Neuro Expression aims to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive creative community by championing neurodiversity leadership and upholding the principle of “nothing for us without us”. Through data-driven decision-making, community engagement, and the testing of innovative ideas, we strive to create exhibitions, opportunities, and spaces that authentically represent and empower neurodiverse and disabled artists.
Our Purpose
At Neuro Expression, our core purpose is to help shape a world that not only recognises but also celebrates the rich diversity of human minds and abilities. We are committed to fostering an environment where both neurodiversity and disabilities are not just accepted, but are seen as essential threads in the tapestry of our society.
Our Mission
Our core mission at Neuro Expression is to make the art and creative sector more neurodiverse and disability friendly and to empower the community to access, create, and find recognition for their art.
We achieve this through three signature strands. Neuro Expression removes barriers, promotes reasonable adjustments, and explores innovative solutions, thereby improving access and reducing inequalities. Our strands of work focus on reasonable adjustments, accessible formats, and innovation.
Our Values
NeuroExpression is non-political and non judgemental. We deeply believe in inclusivity, collaboration, and the power of community-led initiatives.
Through our work, we amplify personal stories and create opportunities for diverse voices to be heard.
Equality and Diversity
At Neuro Expression, we value diversity in all its forms. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone is respected and empowered. Our work aims to amplify marginalised voices, and promote understanding. We stand against discrimination and actively work to ensure equal opportunities for all.
The Welsh Language
We are a bilingual nation – The Welsh language plays an important legal, social and cultural role in Wales, and is important the identities and wellbeing of individuals and communities. We believe everyone has the right to explore art and culture, through the language of their choice, whether as audience, participant or artist. We work with respect for the Welsh Language through all of our activities and recognise the need to be responsive to the linguistic needs of Welsh speakers. We are fully committed to meeting the requirements of the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011, and endeavour to implement the Welsh Language Standards in all our work, whether legally required to so or not.
Organisational Culture
At Neuro Expression, our organisational culture is characterised by clear values, joint-up thinking, and deep respect for the knowledge and experiences of neurodiverse and disabled communities. We emphasise collaboration, curiosity, and positive experiences as ways to connect and empower individuals and communities.
